Pobox are pleased to announce that, with effect from 6th September
2004, BT will be removing the distance limits for 512 kbps Broadband ADSL
Services and extending the reach for 1 Mbps Broadband ADSL services from
3.5 km to 6 km from the exchange!
A million more homes and businesses in the UK are to be in reach of
broadband through phone lines after BT said it was scrapping exchange
distance limits.
From 6 September, anyone living more than 6 km from an ADSL
(Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line) exchange will be able to get a
512 Kbps connection. |

 |
|
This limit had previously prevented many from
taking up broadband.
So, if your local telephone exchange has been enabled for ADSL, and you
have previously tried to get broadband but failed due to line quality
and/or line length, there is now a very high probability that you can now
have a high quality Broadband ADSL service!
